We’re Eric and Torin Dewhirst, a father and son who live here year-round, and when something needs doing at your place you make one call. We come, we look, and we deal with it — and if it needs a trade we don’t do ourselves, we bring in someone we trust and manage it for you.

What we do
None of this is complicated work. It just needs someone with a truck, the right tools, and the willingness to show up when they said they would. No job too small — the small ones are the whole point, because they’re the ones nobody else will drive out for.
Leaves, garden beds, the corner that got away on you. Cleared before the snow sits on it.
Gutters cleared before the freeze, a loose board, a sticking door, a step that needs fixing.
Limbs over the driveway, brush piles, storm mess. Trimmed, cut up, and taken away.
Sections lifted, carried up, and stacked where they’ll sit safe through the ice.
The cottage or the house shut down properly for winter — documented, photographed, nothing missed.
A week in the sun or the whole winter. We look in, and you get photos and a note every visit.
After a blow, we go and look. Then we tell you what’s actually happened and deal with it.
Cedar hedges, overgrown shrubs, and anything that needs cutting back.
A load to the transfer station, an old appliance, a woodpile moved. Two people and a truck.
If it’s on your list and nobody will come do it, ask us. As one neighbour put it, it’s the work that isn’t included in your regular lawn care.

Eric and Torin at Dewhirst Cottage Care had it trimmed, cut up and hauled away in a couple of hours. They took every bit of it with them. They did a follow-up as well to make sure I was satisfied with the results, which I definitely was. They do the type of work that isn’t included in your regular lawn care.”

Yes, always. Brush, branches, old junk, whatever comes out of the job goes in the truck and off to the transfer station. We don’t leave a pile behind for you to deal with.
It depends on the job, which is why we come and look first. The estimate is free and there’s no obligation. Most of what we do is a couple of hours to half a day.
Not at all. We look after cottages for people who live away, but plenty of our work is for folks who live here year-round. Out here we’re all in cottage country, and the jobs are the same either way.
Yes, and it’s a lot of what we do. Whether you’re gone for a week or for the whole winter, we look in on a schedule and send photos and a note after every visit. It’s the same service we do for cottage owners, just at whatever frequency makes sense for you.
